David A. Ludlum: 1910-1997
Article Abstract:
David M. Ludlum had quite a career as weather historian prior to his death on May 23, 1998 at his Princeton, NJ home. Ludlum's fascination with the weather can be traced back to his childhood days in neighboring East Orange, where he was born in 1910. Although he pursued a degree in history, Ludlum had not lost his interest in weather, choosing to enlist in the Army's meteorological unit. Upon discharge, he went on to pursue a career in weather and proceeded to publish numerous research combining weather and history. In 1948, he spearheaded the publication of 'Weatherwise' magazine.
