Cooperation in repeated games when the number of stages is not commonly known
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted to prove that cooperative behavior may arise in noncooperative situations when the nature of the interaction is constant and long term. It was observed that individuals experiencing a finite repetition of a dilemma learn to cooperate when they are not aware of the number of repetitions. However, noncooperative outcome arises when players become aware of the number of repetitions of the dilemma.
