Cultivation analysis studies the impact of television on how audiences create their social reality. It starts with an analysis of the most recurrent, stable and pervading patterns of television content. The latter are made up of the most widely seen images, portrayals and values found in most types of television programs. Cultivation analysis focuses on the most enduring and common effects that television has on its viewers. They are the most pervasive and dominant stereotypes expressed on television.

The ice storm which swept Quebec and Ontario in Jan 1998 was highly destructive that most power transmission lines in the area suffered massive damages, creating a long-term outage. Rescuers spent about 16 hours to improve the area's condition and restore facilities.
