A knowledge asset-based view of technology transfer in international joint ventures
Article Abstract:
An integrated model of the technology transfer process between two firms with different competencies and capabilities was developed to study two international joint ventures. The model describes the firm as a collection of different types of technology, operating procedures, organizational structures and other embodied assets. Technology transfer occurs when embodied assets are transferred between two firms. The model was used to assess how much effort is needed for technology transfer to happen and the effects of existing competencies and capabilities on technology transfer.

Group culture and its effect on innovative productivity
Article Abstract:
A survey of 8,969 individuals in 38 groups in a large R&D agency of the US government was conducted to determine how a group's innovativeness, or receptivity to new ideas and innovations, affects the innovative productivity of the group. Innovativeness was hypothesized to be related not only to innovative productivity but also to decision-making, power-sharing, support and collaboration and emphasis on people- and career-development. The results show a positive correlation between innovativeness and innovative productivity.

Innovation timing advantages: from economic theory to strategic application
Article Abstract:
The applicability of the first and second mover theory to the development of innovation timing strategies is evaluated by analyzing the underlying sources of first and second mover timing advantages. Several industrial factors are considered, such as firm and product/service levels and marketing. Results suggest that the first and second mover theory can be used as an effective model for the development of efficient production management schemes.
