CPI drive refractory advances

Article Abstract:

The chemical process industries (CPI) are driving product quality and performance advances in refractory materials. While the CPI account only for a modest share in the demand for refractories, more operators are realizing that better materials are available in the market. The CPI have started to employ a more aggressive approach in purchasing refractories as companies require optimum material properties and precise installation specifications. These specifications have prompted refractory materials producers and installers to improve quality and performance.

Twenty-first century training

Article Abstract:

Training in many chemical process industries (CPI) appears to have become, at best, a neglected activity. Yet, cutthroat business conditions in the contemporary marketplace plus an increasing shortage of skilled labor have made training critical to plant operations. Thus, an increasing number of CPI plants are achieving dramatic improvements in productivity and revenues by drastically revamping their training and documentation systems and making them accessible to all via corporate Intranets.
