Chinese investment boosts telecom

The Chinese government will increase its investment in telecommunications infrastructure in the country in 1999. The additional investment is expected to boost the growth of telecommunications in China. The switching capacity of the Central office will be increased by an additional 160 million lines by the year 2000. Mobile exchange capacity is expected to increase between 10 to 11 million lines in 1999.

Dehydrogenation with Pd/Zsm-5 for o-phenylphenol synthesis
Article Abstract:
This article discusses new zeolite catalysts for the synthesis of o-phenylphenol, an important raw material for the synthesis of pharmaceutical drugs and used as biocide and fungicide. Palladium-containing ZSM-5 markedly reduces the catalytic attenuation activity, improves the dehalogenation process and permits high rates of dehydrogenation activity.
