Article Abstract:
Tips on how to learn, practice and improve the communication skills of engineers include knowing the audiences, knowing the purpose of conversation, organizing thoughts when making speeches or written reports. Since poor communication skills of engineers can be attributed to lack of knowledge, poor listening and inadequate knowledge about the language, enhancing interpersonal skills by following these techniques offers various benefits. Furthermore, adequate communications skills may also help to improve engineering career.

Professional development: managing in ethical ways
Article Abstract:
Engineering firms should manage and promote the continuing education of their employees. This should be done in an ethical manner and in accordance with the provisions of the American Society of Civil Engineers' Code of Ethics. Engineers should be kept current in specialty fields via professional practice, continuing education courses, technical literature and professional meetings and seminars. They should also be encouraged to attend and present papers at professional and technical society meetings.
