An intergenerational common pool resource experiment
Article Abstract:
The stock available to each generation depends on the extent of exploitation by previous generation and on resource's growth rate, which is either slow or fast. Subjects show altruistic restraint in exploitation but not enough to achieve the social optimum. Altruistic concern for future generation, however, may provide substantial incentives to constrain the exploitation of resources because of leverage effect of the resource growth dynamics.

Overlapping generations and environmental control
Article Abstract:
Economists have proposed several models for analyzing the intertemporal allocation of natural resources. These include representative agent models, cost-benefit analyses, Ramsey-type models, discrete time overlapping generations models and continuous-time overlapping generations models. The last model is particularly useful in analyzing the externalities of consumer heterogeneity and disconnectedness across generations.

Common pool equities: an arbitrage based non-cooperative solution to the common pool resource problem
Article Abstract:
The efficient allocation of resources from a common pool is studied. A new property right, called a Common Pool Equity, is proposed so that profits per share are arbitraged and return on equity equalized across all concerns.
