Blending composts with fertilizers
Article Abstract:
Researchers at the US Dept of Agriculture (USDA) and the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council conducted a study on the fertilizer needs of wheat. The study found out that sugar industry and jute mill waste compost when blended with fertilizer can fill in for up to 50% of nitrogen needs of wheat. Researchers L.J. Sikora of USDA and M.I. Azad of the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute in Pakistan further justified their findings by saying that the findings will help solve the environmental problem of mineral fertilizers polluting the groundwater and make compost available to ore users.
