Waste reduction works like magic
Article Abstract:
The Magic Chief Co at Illinois producing washers and dryers plans to decrease the hauling costs by adopting a waste reduction program and encouraging recycling processes. They make use of compactor and corrugated boxes which can hold a large amount of waste and load pallets. They have started recycling programs to make paper and plastics which are later sold in the market. By cutting down solid waste composition in the plant, the company has been able to overcome the high disposal cost.

Cocomposting MSW and sludge in Warsaw
Article Abstract:
Municipal solid waste (MSW) can be composted with the sludge of acceptable compost according to operational scale trials conducted by the European Commission's PHARE program in Warsaw. A pilot MSW separation and composting plant in Warsaw city, built in 1993, has the waste reception, biostabilizer and separation stages enclosed in a building, and draws air through a biofilter to eliminate unpleasant odors. The mixing of MSW with sludge adds nutrients and moisture to river sewage.
