Report from down under: using earthworm system
Article Abstract:
Conferences focusing on vermiculture was aimed at discussing the need for better technologies and quality standards. Presentations given by some researchers such as Clive Edwards, John Buckerfield, Gerard Gillespie, and John Sabine concern vermicomposting technologies and engineering system, the biology of earthworms, results of a research on soil improvement and crop production, cost benefits and the improvement of earthworm technology.

Can hormones increase earthworm biomass production?
Article Abstract:
A study is conducted to investigate the possibility of increasing earthworm biomass production through hormone treatment as well as to devise new ways to enhance the production of compost and animal proteins for aquaculture. The findings indicate that when certain hormones are applied at the right levels, efficiency of waste conversion by worms increased more than 50 percent as compared to untreated worms.
