Scrap. Electricity. Action!
Article Abstract:
The steel mini-mill industry is currently considered to be in good shape despite slightly declining prices. The price pressures are due to low-cost imports coming from Russia, the Ukraine and Korea. The increasing amount of imports has also resulted in excess inventory for US-based steel producers. The global excess of steelmaking making with the exception of North America has been estimated by experts at 250 to 350 million metric tons.
