On the measurement of biological diversity
Article Abstract:
The calculus of measuring biological diversity is presented in two measures that are applied to the crane family. The underlying assumption of both methods is that the conservation prevents a change in biological diversity. Only genetic differences are used as measures of biological diversity. The two methods used in the study are the preservation measure which preserves a representative sample of the species while allowing close relatives to die off. The other method is the pure diversity method which espouses the preservation of the entire set of the species.
