Winning biosolids support
Article Abstract:
Seattle, WA has launched a Biosolids Forestry Program envisioned to meet the economic and environmental goals of the city. Seattle was facing enormous growth pressures at the time that it was trying to preserve Pacific Northwest forests. The 50-year program initiated by the Mountains to Sound Greenway Trust is being implemented along the 100-mile stretch of interstate east of Seattle without any opposition. The program calls for the land application of biosolids, thus, generating state revenues and saving money for the King County Water Pollution.
