A new era for the Hispanic Caucus?

Article Abstract:

Rep Lucille Roybal-Allard wants the Congressional Hispanic Caucus to expand its focus on political and social issues to include business developments. The Caucus is planning a business summit around early summer 1999 to address opportunities for Hispanic Americans to create and enhance their own businesses. She wants special attention drawn to businesses owned by Hispanic American women.

The forward planning and management information techniques put in place by Ed Fernandez, founder of Sherikon Inc., enabled the company to continue trading successfully following his sudden death in a plane crash. The importance of management information systems are discussed.

SBA spared budget blues

The US Small Business Administration has been given $877 million in the federal government's 2000 budget. Among the projects to be financed during the year are One-stop Capital Shops, the New Market Venture Capital Program and increased small business procurement.
