Banking on diversity: HSBC attributes its success to its multicultural workforce

The American arm of HSBC has a diverse workforce to cater to diverse customer base, with minorities contributing to 44.9 percent of new recruits in 2005. The facilities such as employee network groups, diversity council to help the development of diverse work force, culturally relevant mentor programs and effective feedback sessions offered by the company have resulted in employee retention and have contributed to better productivity.
