NCLR hammers Red Cross: Report depicts 'enormous failures' in service to Hispanic community
Article Abstract:
The National Council of La Raza (NCLR) president Janet Murguia stated that she could not recommend the Hispanic community to donate any funds or provide any assistance to the American Red Cross, citing its disastrous response to Hispanic victims of Hurricane Katrina. A NCLR report found numerous bureaucratic impediments at the Red Cross such as the mandatory diversity training, and the lack of ties to organizations that serve minority communities.
