Familial factors associated with the characteristics of nonmaternal care for infants
Article Abstract:
The influence of psychosocial, family and economic factors on the type, amount and quality of nonmaternal care for infants is examined using data on 1,281 subjects from various parts of the US. The results of the model indicate that the amount and nature of nonmaternal care provided were primarily determined by economic factors. Moreover, predictors of quality of care varied across different types of care.
