Modelling control in relationships
Article Abstract:
A theoretical model of control over intimate relationships was developed. Tested on a broad sample of dating college students, the model was found to be governed by the compensatory process. This means that people tend to control their partners when their control over the environment is threatened. Control over partners is also exhibited when high conflict, less familiarity and distrust prevail in the relationship.

Genetic influence on family systems: implications for development
Article Abstract:
Genes influence many areas in family systems. Examples are cognitive functions, personality differences and psychopathology. An investigation by the Nonshared Environments in Adolescent Development illustrates this. The study even shows perceptions of relationships with parents to be influenced by genes. Genetic influence on family life can help link the science of the family with neuroscience.
