Article Abstract:
A Univ of San Diego study found that teachers use the pronoun 'he' more frequently than 'she' in describing an animal of indeterminate gender. This causes children to do the same and reinforces stereotyping. Parents are encouraged to be aware of the effect of language on sexism.
