"60 Minutes" examines stronger evidence linking wine and good health

Article Abstract:

The CBS news program '60 Minutes' reported on a Copenhagen study that indicates that drinking 3 to 5 glasses of red wine each day provides some protection against heart disease. The findings were particularly significant because more than 13,000 people were studied over a 13-year period.

New Danish study shows big health benefits in wine drinking

Article Abstract:

The Copenhagen Heart Study showed that wine drinkers had much lower mortality rates compared to drinkers of other alcoholic beverages. The study sampled over 13,000 men and women aged from 30-70. It was the second important medical study to be released by Denmark.

Smithsonian Institution affirms wine's role in American culture

Article Abstract:

The Smithsonian Institution held a seminar and wine tasting that featured wine as an important part of US life. The event was called 'Red, White and American' and marked the 20th anniversary of the international recognition of the high quality of California wine.
