Pine Ridge Winery owner Gary Andrus is going ahead with the manufacture of Pinot Noir by setting up a winery in Oregon. Andrus believes in the potential of Carneros in making Merlot and has set up the Archery Summit winery in the Willamette Valley.

Vintner Doug Tunnell, whose winery is on the Ribbon Ridge hilltop, makes an outstanding Pinot Noir and a very good Chardonnay. Tunnell is fond of French wines. His Oregon wines have strong hints of cinnamon, as do many of wines of the region.
