It's dry, dry again, as Asahi takes a Super stab in the US
Article Abstract:
Asahi Breweries of Tokyo, Japan, is again pursuing a major marketing push for its Asahi Super Dry Beer product in the US, even after failing to boost the beer's popularity in the US in its earlier attempts. Asahi's Asahi Super Dry Beer, which is the best-selling beer brand in Japan, has been offered in the US since 1988 on a limited basis, with the dry-beer product category failing to secure sufficient patronage from the US' beer drinkers. Asahi Breweries' president, Yuzo Seto, asserted that the firm is promoting its Asahi Super Dry Beer in the US as an excellent product, looking to achieve sales of three million cases by the year 2000 and sales of one million cases in 1998.

Apple & Eve has Tonics for today's Tribal times
Article Abstract:
Roslyn, NY-based Apple and Eve is rolling out its green tea-based Tribal Tonics line of beverage in spring 1998 initially on Eastern Seaboard and eventually on the West Coast. The new drink is the newest potable from the company, which is opting to market the product outside its regular distribution territory. Apple and Eve, one of the top independent fresh juice bottlers on the East Coast, used tribal imagery with plans to donate 5% of all profits from Tribal Tonics. The campaign is designed to benefit indigenous people all over the world and to directly give the money to such groups, rather than through charitable agencies.

Doctor, doctor, give me a brew... and thry making it with a cola nut
Article Abstract:
Dr. Holty's Cyclone Lager is being touted as the first commercially available lager containing herbal stimulants and was brewed by an actual medical doctor. The new brew contains ginseng and guarana with cola nut developed by Kent Holtorf in the late 1980s, when he claimed he was an overworked and overtired medical student. Dr. Holty's Cyclone Lager is aimed to allow consumers to drink beer without being too tired to perform other duties or activities. Holtorf guarantees that drinking the new brew is safe as drinking any other beer, but is aware he can not claim any benefits from drinking Dr. Holty's.
