McDonald's opens its first restaurant in Romania
Article Abstract:
McDonald's of the US, a fast food company, has opened a restaurant in Bucharest, Romania, with another two opening by the end of the year. The company has built its own outlets due to the lack of potential franchisees. It is currently importing ingredients but is seeking local suppliers. The company is not likely to make large profits in the short term, as most consumer goods are sold considerably cheaper in Romania than the west.

Home delivery slow to get of the ground in France
Article Abstract:
Home food delivery has been slow to catch on in France, although the number of home delivery food outlets has increased. Home delivery pizza controls 56% of the home delivery market, with Pizza Hut and Domino's dominating the market. The majority of home delivery outlets are situated in the major cities, particularly Paris, and are almost unheard of in rural areas. There is little call for Asian food.
