European retailers are becoming more interested in home shopping ventures, according to a report by KPMG consultancy. Electronic shopping currently represents 5% of all UK retail sales, but direct mail, agency catalogues and direct response advertising represent a significant share of the market.The Internet is becoming increasingly popular amongst home shopping channels, with the UK and Germany leading growth in this area. European retailers will need to choose between interactive and non-interactive media in the future, but need intermediate solutions now.
