Northwest auction rakes in record $12 million for Seattle Children's Hospital

Article Abstract:

An auction for the Seattle Children's Hospital raised a record $12 million. The highest single bid was $80,000 and went for a package that included a private performance from saxophone player Kenny G and a barbecue dinner. A challenge grant from Starbuck's Schultz raised a total of $273,000. The top wine lot was 6-liter bottles of Col Solare 1995, 1996 and 1997 that went for $16,000.
