The quality of wine continues to rise in Argentina, with Malbec being the dominant player in terms of quality and quantity and Mendoza the lead wine-producing region. The success of the improving wine producers is accompanied with the inexperienced wine makers leading to disappointments and also diluting the country's progress.

Hollywood auction rakes in record proceeds for cystic fibrosis
Article Abstract:
The 10th Annual Culinary Evening with the California Winemasters raised a net of $701,595 to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Forty-four California wineries held tastings and 29 chefs prepared food for event attendees. Guests bid on 600 silent auction lots that included wines to weekend getaways.
