Syrah, which Australians call Shiraz, has been growing for approximately 130 years on the Henschke Hill of Grace in the Northern Adelaide Hills region. These wines are finally winning the world recognition that they deserve. Henschke and his wife, a viticulturist, enjoy the tradition.

Kumeu River is making excellent Chardonnay. Brajkovich, a Master of Wine who studied winemaking in France, makes the wines in the Bordeaux tradition. Several of Kumeu's Chardonnays rated highly in tastings.
