The truth about 1996 Bordeaux: with a few notable exceptions, new releases are expensive and underwhelming
Article Abstract:
Reports about the 1996 Bordeaux vintage hyped it as one of the greatest years ever, but many feel that the 1996 vintage leaves quite a bit to be desired. Wines from St.-Estephe, Pauillac, and St. Julien regions of Bordeaux were quite good, but they were not representative of the vintage. It appears that many Bordeaux vintners are charging too much for their wines.
