Article Abstract:
There were many good opportunities for sampling wine in 1998. Many 1995, 1996, and 1997 vintages were released this year and some wineries offered retrospective tastings. The 1990s are remarkable for the quality wines produced during the decade. The year 1998 was also an interesting time to be introduced to single-grower French Champagne and wines.

Finally, the truth about old wines
Article Abstract:
Many wine drinkers are fascinated with old wines, but the truth is that a great many old wines are past their prime and no longer even recognizable. One wine critic who is not overly fond of old wines discusses disagreements he has had on the subject.
