UK baby milk scare fuelled by 'government complacency'
Article Abstract:
The UK government has refused to name the nine brands of baby milk that have been found to contain chemicals that could cause infertility. The phthalates are within official safety levels and the government believes that the information is commercially sensitive. However the government has been criticised for creating more concern than was necessary, particularly as traces of the chemicals were found in each sample tested.

Granjas Castello battles with Spanish authorities

Granjas Castello of Spain, distributor of Nado 1 and 2 infant formulae to supermarkets, is taking action against the authorities in Spain, claiming they prevented free competition. The Catalan authorities have fined Granjas Castello, which has the support of Anged, the Spanish retail association, for the illegal sale of the infant formulae.

Spanish judge allows sale of baby food in supermarkets
Article Abstract:
A Barcelona judge has reversed the decision to ban Granjas Castello from selling its Nado baby food in supermarkets, following an appeal by the company. Granjas will continue selling the baby food in supermarket chains including Eroski, Caprabo, and Valvi, saying that it is defending its right to freely compete with other companies.
