Explicating middle-range theory through methodological diversity
Article Abstract:
Nurse researchers should consider setting aside methodological differences and concentrate on advancing nursing science through agreement on the bases of nursing practice. The modeling and role-modeling theory (MRM) offers the theoretical framework for research and practice by placing the patient's view of the world at the center of nursing concerns. MRM is based on personal interaction and tapping into people's individual knowledge of what they need to get well.

Breast cancer survival: a phenomenological inquiry
Article Abstract:
Adult women who survived breast cancer tend to treat the experience as motivating them to keep busy and engaged with life, to help others with cancer, or to deny the experience. Phenomenological analysis treats the stories of breast cancer survivors as unique experiences. Nurses who listen to these stories come to understand the multiple meanings breast cancer has, and they help patients select treatment options on that basis.
