Pharmaceutical firm Amgen Inc relies on teamwork to ensure its success in its business. For Amgen, teamwork is a combination of team dynamics and partnership, a system which it calls teamship. The characteristics of a successful team are purpose, structure, team relations, competency, leadership, reward and recognition. The gradual transition to a team-based environment: the success story of a medium-sized manufacturing facility
Article Abstract:
Medical equipment firm CR Bard Inc underwent a transition to a team-based environment through a three-step process which took several years to complete. The transition process was divided of decision, design and implementation phases. The implementation of the team-based environment has enabled CR Bard to lessen its facility costs, to schedule performance and quality and to make sustained refinements in its organizational performance.
