Prospective randomized clinical trial of inpatient cervical ripening with stepwise oral misoprostol vs vaginal misoprostol

Article Abstract:

The efficacy and safety of stepwise oral misoprostol vs vaginal misoprostol for cervical ripening before induction of labor is compared. A low incidence of hyperstimulation, no increase in side effects, a high rate of patient satisfaction and association with a lower cesarean section rate was observed in both stepwise oral misoprostol and vaginal misoprostol.

Postural equilibrium during pregnancy: Decreased stability with an increased reliance on visual cues

Article Abstract:

A study determines whether changes in static postural equilibrium occur during pregnancy and investigates whether the incidence of falls increases during pregnancy. A decline in postural stability and an increased reliance on vision for the maintenance of balance during pregnancy and the postpartum period is observed.

Factors that predict prematurity and preeclampsia in pregnancies that are complicated by systemic lupus erythematosus

Article Abstract:

A study aims to describe the outcomes of a 10-year cohort of pregnancies in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and to evaluate clinical and laboratory markers for adverse outcomes. All pregnancies in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus who are seen at Stanford University from 1991 to 2001 are reviewed.
