Campus companies and the emerging techno-academic paradigm: the Irish experience
Article Abstract:
A new paradigm shift equally important as the industrial revolution is taking place in the higher education sector. It is characterized by constant innovation through technological development with the diffusion and creation of knowledge as the primary resources. Proof of the occurrence of this phenomenon can be witnessed in the higher education sector of Ireland which is characterized by a new type of technological entrepreneurialism. A proliferation of campus companies, which sell research within the college infrastructure, have become an important part of small and medium enterprise sector.

University students as entrepreneurs: a special case of technology transfer and high-tech venturing
Article Abstract:
An intensive study on the effects of the entrepreneurship on the career and life of 22 scientists is presented. The problems encountered resulting from the clash of the conflicting cultures of university research andbusiness management is traced. The outcome of this clash is that the scientist often severs his connection with the university. However, if appropriate approaches are adopted and potential problems are properly addressed, the concept of scientists as entrepreneurs may effect substantial contributions to the innovation cycles of the society.

Informal investors as entrepreneurs
Article Abstract:
The business potential of the investment and the entrepreneur-investor relationship are factors that tend to affect informal investors' investment proposals. A sample of 44 informal investors in Sweden showed that such factors are included in the decision-making criteria utilized by informal investors. Informal investors also take into account the entrepreneur's capability in company development when making investment proposals. Informal investors also tend regard entrepreneur in the portfolio firm as their co-entrepreneur.
