Bessie Coleman stamp set for April 27th
Article Abstract:
Coleman learned French, went to Paris and got a pilot's licence in 1921 since she was denied entrance to pilot schools in the US due to race and gender. The first day ceremonies will be in Chicago. Bessie Coleman, pioneer pilot, is the 18th African to br honored in the Black Heritage series.

Inscription on Japanese stamp dates back to 921 A.D
Article Abstract:
The 1945 stamp depicts a photograph of a writing in a temple. The writing is reputed to be by Emperor Kameyama and is a prayer for victory over Kublai Khan's forces. At the time of the stamp's issue, the American air force was invading the country. A description of the stamp is given.
