Article Abstract:

J. Wells' says that her career of creating teddy bears began after a stroke erased her adult memory and brought her the gift of thinking young. While she was re-learning a pre-school task, a bear appeared in her mind. Since that time she never runs out of ideas for bears waiting to be born.

Linda Klay, owner of The Bear Holding Co. in Hingham, Massachusetts, believes that bear-making is an art form. She made her first teddy bear after observing how adults and children were attracted to the bear at the quilting shop where she worked.
