Article Abstract:
Alexander Hart, a traditionally trained jeweler, studied at Earl Pardon at Skidmore, designed costume jewelry for Karl Lagerfeld and Givenchy, has an MFA from the Rochester Institute of technology, and has worked as a studio goldsmith and designer for Barbara Heinrich. She is now becoming known for the making of crown- the first of it was a commission by the Carmelite Monastery in Philadelphia to do a Jesus Crown.

Invitation to the craft
Article Abstract:
The 1998 Kraftwerks Invitational held in Ontario, CA, featured leading jewelry craftsmen and seminars on traditional craft making. Symposiums on the design methods of Jose Hess and Alan Revere were held. The event was co-sponsored by the Manufacturing Jewelers and Silversmiths of America.

'The Nature of Diamonds,' an exhibition at the San Diego Natural History Museum, was a comprehensive show of more that 300 gems and jewelry pieces. Highlights of the show, which was developed by the American Museum of Natural History, included the 407.48-carat Incomparable diamond.
