Article Abstract:

MAN made changes in its 671-hp D2848 LE 401 diesel engine to produce the 789-hp D2848 LE 403. The new engine has a higher fuel-injection flow rate, piston rods with trapezoid-shaped small ends, more tubes in the heat exchanger and low-inertia turbochargers.
