Cedar waxwing

Article Abstract:

The cedar waxwing is not a migrating bird. It likes to remain in areas where there is an abundant supply of fruit. It will form a nest in a colony and average three to five newborn birds. Their young feed initially on insects only.

The brown creeper

Article Abstract:

The brown creeper earns its name because of its tendency to move up a vertical tree trunk in jerking motions. It is a bird that is shy around feeders and other birds and will respond to suet if it can the food source by itself.

Western meadowlark

Article Abstract:

The western meadowlark prefers the grasslands and prairies between Kentucky and the Pacific coast. It is distinguished from the eastern meadowlark by its more tuneful singing. Its nests are hidden in tall grasses.
