Composition Shirley Temple dolls produced by Ideal

Ideal Toy Corp.'s most desired doll product in the 1930s was the personality-composition doll called Shirley Temple, after a renowned US actress of that era. The dolls ranged in size from 11-27 inches, and more than 1.5 million were sold in the 1930s, saving Ideal from bankruptcy.

Ideal's wonderful composition dolls

The Ideal Toy Company was one of the largest manufacturers of composition dolls in the US from 1909 to 1947. Their celebrity dolls such as Judy Garland, Deanna Durbin, and Shirley Temple models are highly prized among collectors for their craftsmanship and value.
