Research into corn flavor indicates that the level of traditional 'corny' flavor is determined by the amount of dimethyl sulfide. One variety of corn with more of this compound is Summer Sweet 7210. Corn varieties with extra sweet taste due to high sugar content include Northern Extrasweet and Illini Gold.

Orthoganics Insecticidal Soap, made by Chevron, has been found to contaminated with the potent herbicide, oxyfluorfen. The product was recalled, but some of the soap is still on shelves. Also, more lots than Chevron indicated are contaminated. Those who used the soap are encouraged to retain an attorney.
