Taking the sting out of wasps
Article Abstract:
The cicada-killer wasp, or Sphecius speciosus, is one of the largest wasps east of the Rocky Mountains, but presents little danger to humans. Only the females have stingers, which they use to paralyze other cicadas. They carry their victim to their burrow to provide food for their offspring.
