Jennifer revenues off 19.6% in 2nd qtr

Jennifer Convertibles, retailer of sofa sleeper products recorded a loss of 19.6% in its revenues in the 2nd quarter of 2005 when compared with the previous season. Because of this drop in the business company has closed nine of its stores in the quarter. With the efforts like cost reduction and increase in margins company is hoping for good time in the third quarter. Sales statistics of years 2004 and 2005 are compared.

Woodbury, New York based sofa-sleeper specialty retailer Jennifer Convertibles reported that their revenues in the fourth quarter ended August 28 were $32.7 million, up 9.1% from $30 million in the comparable 2003 period and their loss in the quarter increased from $1.7 million a year ago to $2.6 million in the latest quarter.
