Pennsylvania redware cake molds

Pennsylvania cake molds were famous dishes used for baking sponge cakes during the 19th century. Usually made of tin, iron, copper and occasionally stoneware and redware, these cake molds allow the equal distribution of heat that consequently produces a smooth cake consistency.

Pennsylvania pottery banks
Article Abstract:
Redware pottery coin banks were very popular in the 19th century. Among the most artistic were those made in Pennsylvania. Being fragile, only a few of these Pennsylvania pottery banks survived, but their quality attests to the skill of the craftsmen that created them.

Collecting New England redware

Roger Pheulpin is one of the few art collectors with a vast knowledge on New England redware. Some of his collections include rounded foot and glazed pots native to Bristol County, MA, and 18th century jars from Maine.
