Just how efficient are the trackers
Article Abstract:
UK index funds seek to track specific stock market indexes. Investors should assess charges and the extent to which tracking is achieved. The fund can be compared with the index which the fund follows, and price changes noted. Different systems are used by different funds, and comparisons are not always easy. Tracking errors can be high with some funds, and there are variables which affect measurement of errors, such as the time of day that measurements are taken.

Paying for the relationship, not just the sale
Article Abstract:
Suppliers should encourage their sales personnel to focus on both expanding and maintaining the customer base. This is needed as customers try to reduce the number of their suppliers. Innovative sales compensation schemes are available to encourage sales personnel to achieve customer expansion and maintenance targets. One of these schemes is the life cycle compensation which provides different compensation incentives at different stages of a salesperson's career.

Paying the people who deal with your customers
Article Abstract:
Viacom Cable adopted a linear sale program and a new compensation plan to eliminate revenue variances across its national units. The three-tiered linear sale concept recognizes selling as an ongoing process in which each customer contact is regarded as a chance to sell products or services. On the other hand, the new compensation plan offers a cash-based total compensation package that includes salaries, commissions and bonuses.
