The Party focuses on strengthening the NATO alliance and consolidating the gains of the Cold War in Europe. It aims to strengthen the military and defense, reduce terrorism, and protect the rights and interests of American citizens worldwide. The Party supports freedom and human rights in Africa and the peace process in Israel. It encourages a new alliance among democratic nations of the Western Hemisphere. The Republicans calls for strengthening the intelligence community and space science.

The Democratic Party aims to further its efforts by strengthening the military, reducing weapons of mass destruction, and evolving solutions to challenges such as international crime, terrorism, and drug trafficking. The Party tries to promote stable and peaceful relations among nation states by encouraging the adoption of democratic ideals such as human rights. The leadership of Bill Clinton and Albert Gore has contributed to the prosperity of the nation.

The National Security Research Department, of the US feel that the war in Iraq was a stunning success, thanks to the Bush Administration, that freed the Iraqis from the vicious rule of Saddam Hussein. President Bush has helped change the face of post cold war front, in a novel approach which is more suited to the US way of thinking and US interest, among other things.
