Against the concept of ethnic conflict
Article Abstract:
An argument for abandoning the field of ethnic conflict as ethnic conflict framework is very rarely best one for the study of politics. After an inspection there appear only two rare kinds of situation where the concept of ethnic conflict is apposite, and the highly contextual nature of such situations means the reduced concept has little leverage.

Framing post-conflict societies: International pathologisation of Cambodia and the post-Yugoslav states
Article Abstract:
The pathologistation of post-conflict societies through a comparison of the framing of the Cambodian and post-Yugoslav states is examined. The notion of failed states fixes culpability for war on the societies in question, rendering the domestic populations dysfunctional while casting international rescue interventions as functional.
