Civilian victims in an asymmetrical conflict: Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan
Article Abstract:
The Iraq war in 2003 is regarded as an instance of highly asymmetrical conflict, although Iraq's armed forces were in different league from the Taliban ragtag troops. Accordingly, a study about civilian victims in Afghanistan that emerged as a sideline to a landmine contamination assessment is conducted.

The theory of Horowitz regarding the negative effect of involvement in war on democracy is challenged. Study revealed that there is an insignificant effect of war on the difference in levels of democracy.
