Hot fish and (bargaining) chips
Article Abstract:
International fisheries disputes are becoming more violent due to the perceived ecological crisis looming over international waters. In response, the Law of the Sea is being modified to conceptualize state sovereignty by awarding coastal states sovereign rights over fisheries resources located within a country's exclusive economic zones. However, fish often go out of the range of international waters and fishermen consequently give chase. Fishermen therefore have the dilemma of either respecting territorial boundaries and getting a fair share of fish or following their adventurous spirit.

The future of science
Article Abstract:
Astronomical observations are limited by the technical capability of telescopes and the effect of the atmosphere on light. The resolution of ground-based telescopes which suffer from image distortion due to the effect of gravity and temperature can be improved by making the mirrors lighter by segmentation, by using thin mirrors, or by using active optics. To correct the distorting effect of the atmosphere, adaptive optics was incorporated in the design of the telescopes. This phenomenon is also fundamental to the development of the space-based Hubble Telescope.
